Microsoft to simplify downgrades from Vista to XP

Microsoft to simplify downgrades from Vista to XP - ZDNet.com

This is kinda funny, though not that big of a deal -- businesses have stricter internal regulations about what they can and cannot run, and a new operating system usually must be approved by some sort of committee before it can be officially used in-house.

What I want to know is why is it so hard for these business to get computers pre-loaded with WinXP? Is Microsoft really forcing OEM's that much to only sell Vista?

In other news, I have been hit recently by both the Firefox "disappearing profile" bug as well as the Windows "disappearing roaming profile" bug.

Fun fun, right? I've been able to recover mostly, but I've started using things like the Firefox Extension Backup Extension (don't let the name fool you, it backs up your entire profile, passwords included, and not just your extensions).
